JUICY at Spring Art Walk

When my good friends Jason and Kara Holder, owners of Pure Press Juicery invited me to exhibit during Spring Art Walk in downtown Lake Charles, LA - I was thrilled to participate. I have been outside of the Lake Charles art scene for nearly 4 years and I always loved being involved in the arts community.

I wanted to take a break from my own practice and have fun painting - honestly, I wanted to paint without dealing with conceptualism. Jason sent images from their process of juicing and I used the photos as starting references. These paintings were nice studies and practice for my own painting techniques. I am most intrigued by the abstract nature of the juice paintings - which are nearly disguised and not easily recognized at first glance.
